Ms. Ladd founded the Sunrise Children’s Foundation in 1993. The Foundation has focused exclusively on the needs of children and families, serving more than 200,000 children and families in the past year and employed 120 people. The Foundation’s vision is: helping children to fulfill their potential of safe, healthy and educated lives. Although the Foundation began with a bare-bones budget, it’s fundraising in recent years along with several grants has reached over $7 million annually.
Dee creates innovative, unique fundraisers for many children’s non-profits and is known as “The everything must be donated lady.” She has been local and state director of many nonprofit organizations in Utah and Nevada. Dee epitomizes her favorite quote, “Thank you for caring enough to give and giving enough to care.”
Ms. Ladd is the winner of many awards and achievements, including the “ATHENA Award,” and was also selected to be “Regional Ambassador of ATHENA International;” past chairman of Board for International Festival of Trees and Lights; received awards from American Diabetes Association and Boys Hope Girls Hope National; received the “Woman of Achievement,” from the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce; and Arbonne International, “Presidents Award.” Her most recent award was from the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way; and was the 2011 “Access to Healthcare Honoree,” for Leadership Outreach in Health Education. Ms. Ladd was recently named to the board of directors for Nevada Ballet in 2012.
Dee’s family consists of husband Ken (of 40 years), late son Mark, grandson and three beautiful great-granddaughters: Tishona Rae, Kryslyn Sky, and Elysha Hope. Ms. Ladd has been a resident of Nevada for 30 years.
